Rendlesham Forest Incident | The Close UFO Encounters

In December 1980, an unidentified triangular shaped aircraft with strange hieroglyphics on its body was seen moving within the Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, England. And this peculiar event is widely known as the "Rendlesham Forest Incident".

The Rendlesham Forest Incidents happened consecutively just outside the RAF Woodbridge, which was used by the U.S. Air Force at that time, and the witnesses included high-ranked military officials such as Commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt, who stated that the craft was repeatedly emitting beams of light.

It all started around 3:00 a.m. on December 26th, 1980, when the security patrolmen near the east gate of RAF Woodbridge saw some strange lights abruptly descending into the nearby Rendlesham Forest. First of all, they thought it to be a downed aircraft, however, upon entering the forest for investigation, they saw a triangular shaped metallic glowing object with intense blue and white lights, and there were some unknown hieroglyphic-like symbols on its body.

Sergeant Jim Penniston, who was one of the witnesses later claimed to have closely encountered the "craft of unknown origin" whilst inside the forest. According to Penniston, when he had touched on its smooth exterior shell which was a little bit hot, he went into a trans-like state and he was only able to see 0-1-0-1-0-1... digital figures in his mind at that time, and the object was continuously diffusing a mild shock-wave in the surrounding atmosphere. He felt that the hieroglyphic-like symbols were inscribed on the craft's body, like a diamond cut on glass. After a while, the mystical triangular shaped object appeared to move through the trees. It has also been reported that while the object was hovering through the forest area, the animals on the nearby farm went into a frenzy.

Shortly after the incident, the local police had come to the scene and carried a short investigation, in which it was reported that they could see the only lights which were coming from the Orford Ness lighthouse, some miles away on the coast.

On the other hand, these lights have been concluded by astronomers to a piece of natural debris seen burning up as a fireball over Southern England at that time.

Next morning, the servicemen returned to a small clearing near the eastern edge of the forest and found three small unidentified impressions in a triangular pattern, as well as burn marks and broken branches on the nearby trees and bushes. The local police conceived it to have been made by an animal.

On December 28th, the deputy base commander Lt. Colonel Charles Halt conducted a massive investigation into that alleged site with several servicemen. During the investigation, they also saw a flashing light that was across the field to the east, as the witnesses had seen on the first night. According to them, there were three star-like lights in the sky, two to the north and one to the south, in a specific angular distance, and the brightest of these hovered for 2 to 3 hours and seemed to beam down a stream of light in a short interval. Perhaps they were in search of something. But the astronomers have explained these star-like lights as nothing more than some bright stars.
